Stella Edna Greenhaw
The funeral service for Stella Edna Greenhaw, 91, of Athens, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, February 13, 2020, at McConnell Memorial Chapel with Clint Coffey officiating.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at McConnell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Greenhaw passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2020, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.
She was born March 18, 1928, in Limestone County, Alabama, to John and Lucille Smith.
Mrs. Greenhaw was a member of First Christian Church of Athens. She served on the Limestone County Board of Registrars. Mrs. Greenhaw and her husband opened and operated Dubs Burgers in Athens from 1961 until 1983.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Weaver "Dub" Greenhaw, three daughters, Jane Greenhaw Patterson, Barbara Greenhaw Lipham and Jean Greenhaw Sharpe; two sons, Johnny Greenhaw and Dexter Greenhaw; one brother, Jerrell Smith; and one sister, Wynema Southard.
She is survived by her brother, Clinton Smith and wife Jewell of Athens; five grandchildren, Tina Patterson Hooks, Mark Patterson, Shane Greenhaw, Zachary Kale Greenhaw and Ian Greenhaw; five great-grandchildren, Paige Hicks, Tyler Hicks, Crystal Greenhaw, Wesley Parker Greenhaw and Bella Patterson; and one great-great-grandchild, Meredith Hicks.
