Nellie Mae Sides Scheuler Nellie Mae Sides Schueler, age 77, passed away Friday, September 2, 2016 with family and Hospice of Limestone County Nurses at her bedside. She was born April 9,1939 in Limestone County to Earl and Rosa Mae Whitworth Sides. After graduation from West Limestone High School, Nell went to Washington D.C. to work for the FBI. Here she met the love of her life, Bill. They married and traveled for 20 years while he served in the U.S. Air Force. Upon his retirement, they moved back to Limestone County. She and Bill worked many years at their business, S & S Motors. When Nellie Mae wasnt enjoying her family, she could be found in the yard gardening where she had a gift with flowers and plants. She spent much time researching family genealogy, cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide, staying abreast of current events and politics, loving her precious cat Phoebe, and reading. Nell was preceded in death by her parents, son Willliam Randall Schueler Brothers Bobby, Billy Don, and Douglas Sides. Nellie is survived by her husband of 58 years, William(Bill) Schueler Daughter, Terri Rankin(Colin) 4 Grandchildren: Chad Lindsay(Amanda), Kristin Lindsay(Jessie), Ryan Schueler (Whitney), and Bryson Bennett 2 Great Grandchildren: Brodie and Makayla Lindsay Daughter-in-law Florence Schueler 2 Brothers: Herbert Sides (Becky) and Gregory Sides 2 Sisters-in-law: Esther Smith and Cornella Schueler Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends Share in food and fellowship while remembering the wonderful life of Nellie Mae. Feel free to bring a dish if you would like. A Celebration of Life and Potluck honoring Nell will be Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 6-8 pm at Vietnam Veterans of America Building,17915 W. Elm Street, Athens, AL 35611. Berryhill Funeral Home will assist the family. The family sincerely thanks Hospice of Limestone County for their kindness, dedication, and expertise. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Nellies memory to Hospice of Limestone County, P.O. Box 626, Athens, AL 35612.
