Nancy Louise (Harrison) Gaston
Mrs. Nancy Louise (Harrison) Gaston, 80, of Athens, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel in Athens, Alabama, with Mark Johnson officiating. Visitation will be noon at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hester's Cemetery.
Nancy was a graduate of West Limestone High School and a lifelong resident of Limestone County. She had a long and wonderful career in office management, having worked for local companies as well as major corporations such as ConAgra and Computer Sciences Corp. She was a current employee of 29 years, a corporate officer and co-owner of the family business, Gradkell Systems Inc., a U.S. Department of Defense computer software contractor of Huntsville.
She was known for her efforts in restoration and historical registry of her grandfather's grist mill on Alabama 99, now known as the Sim Corder/Harrison Mill on the Limestone Historical Society Register.
She was a loving spouse, mother and grandmother as well as a caring and thoughtful neighbor and friend. Her family would like to thank the wonderful and loving staff of Athens-Limestone Hospital.
She was preceded in death by sister, Martha Ada Harrison; her brother, Charles Edwin Harrison; her father, Onis Joseph Harrison; her mother, Nena Lillian (Jackson) Harrison; her husband, Grady Paul Gaston Jr.; and her grandson; Nicholas Andrew Smith.
Survivors include her daughters, Nancy Laquetta Smith of Huntsville, Alabama, and Theresa Ann Gaston of Millington, Tennessee; her son, Grady Paul Gaston III of Athens, Alabama; granddaughters, Lauren Elizabeth Smith of Huntsville, Alabama, and Shannon Michelle Gaston of Atlanta, Georgia; and loving devoted partner, John Kenneth Morris of Athens, Alabama.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
