Mr. Maurice Hobson Jackson, Jr. left the walks of this life on April 15, 2023. Marty, as he was known to his family and friends, was born January 27, 1956, to Maurice Hobson Jackson and Lorene Coffee Jackson in Decatur, Alabama. He leaves behind his daughter, Lauren Jackson Riehl and a host of close life-long friends who loved him and will miss him dearly.

Marty graduated from Decatur High School, class of 1974, Calhoun College, where he earned his diploma in cabinet making and millwork. He worked at American Fructose in Decatur, Alabama until his retirement and was especially proud of his 20 year Perfect Attendance Certificate.

Marty loved the outdoors and was the consummate hunter, fisherman and all-around sportsman. He was a great cook and loved to treat family and friends to dishes he would prepare from various wild game that he would harvest.

A celebration of life will be at a later date.
