Martha Elizabeth Sisson
Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Sisson, 79, joined her heavenly Father on Sunday, December 29, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Eloyce Bromley and was born January 31, 1940, in Florence, Alabama.
She is survived by William (Gene), her loving husband of 62 years and her three children. With unconditional love and affection, Mrs. Sisson raised her family and adored them with all her heart. Mrs. Sisson's children, Bill, husband of Cindy Sisson, Susan, wife of Jeff McCluskey, and Lori, all grew up with a mother who loved them and showed them how to love the Lord. She was an active member of the University Baptist Church in Huntsville, Alabama, for 50 years.
Her last years were spent at the Capshaw Baptist Church in Capshaw, Alabama, not only worshipping the Lord but also arranging for monthly senior adult fellowships with devotion and love for her church. She actively served for many years in the East Limestone community with various fundraising activities, the PTA, and ELHS band club. She was also a member of the DAR.
Her faith and love of God is evident in her grandchildren Jacob, Will, Brooke, and Matt. Mrs. Sisson is also survived by two great-grandchildren Ainsley and Cason. From baking cookies for her grandchildren to playing fun and memorable Christmas Eve games, Mrs. Sisson's home was filled with love.
Some of Mrs. Sisson's favorite hobbies consisted of reading, painting, watching Hallmark movies, and playing with her precious Yorkshire Terrier, "Max". The things most dear to Mrs. Sisson's heart were her faith in God and her caring family. Those who were touched and uplifted by her life will miss her sorely.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday at Spry Funeral Home in Athens, Alabama, with a private graveside service at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Iron City, Tennessee.
