Linda Kay (Hudson) Kending Obituary
Cascade, Maryland - Mrs. Linda Kay (Hudson) Kending, 66, of Cascade, MD, passed away Monday, August 18, 2025, in Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown, MD.
Born December 1, 1958, in Athens, AL, she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Donna (Overstraight) Hudson.
She graduated from Athens High School with the class of 1978. She later attended Hagerstown Junior College for one year.
Mrs. Kending served her country honorably during peacetime in the United States Navy for two years.
She and her husband, the late Daniel J. Kending, were married on February 29, 1980, in Upper Marlboro, MD. They enjoyed 35 years of marriage together before Mr. Kending died on January 8, 2016.
Mrs. Kending worked at Frederick Memorial Hospital for 8 years as a C.N.A. She later worked at The Way Station, Federick, MD as a facilitator for over 17 years.
She was a member of First Community Church in Blue Ridge Summit, PA. She was an avid hunter who enjoyed the outdoors. She also enjoyed painting and animals.
She is survived by one son, Daniel J. Kending and his significant other, Jennifer Kint of Cascade, MD; six grandchildren, Trinity Kending, Pheonix Kending, Jaden Reed, Jaxen Kending, Kolten Kending and Ellie Kending; two great-grandchildren, Dietra and Emersyn Walker; her siblings, Autry Hudson of Rogerville, AL, Chad Hudson of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Fay Smaltz of Ardmore, AL; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Rudolph Hudson.
A celebration of Linda's life will be at 5 p.m., Sunday, September 14, 2025 in Waynesboro New Church, 11855 N. Landis Avenue, Waynesboro.
