John Jacob Wagner of Athens, Alabama died on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 in Huntsville, Alabama. Still remaining are his 2 children, Nick Wagner of Athens, Alabama and Nancy Wagner (Shawn) Kennedy, of Middleton, Tennessee.

John Jacob Wagner was born to James E. and Wilhelmena 'Minnie' Wagner on September 30, 1944 in Porter County, Indiana. He was raised on a dairy and row crop farm in Rensselaer, Indiana. John graduated from Rensselaer High School then moved with the family in 1964 to San Pierre, Indiana. He had a lifelong passion for agriculture, farming, and John Deere tractors.

He married Dorothy Bau of Toto, Indiana in the mid 60's and resided in San Pierre and Medaryville, Indiana. He and family later moved to Limestone County, Alabama in 1984 where he continued to farm and owned D & J Flooring Company.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, wife Dorothy, and younger brother Jerry. Family remaining are: Sisters Julie Cole of North Judson, IN. and Margie (Larry) Pixey of San Pierre, IN., brother Tom (Melody) Wagner of Athens, AL., sister in law Barbara Walters of Jacksonville, NC., and brother in laws Dick Bau of Toto, IN., Pete Bau of Clarksville, TN., and Ed Bau of Knox, IN. John leaves behind 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

John will be interned at Roselawn Cemetery in Athens, Alabama. Arrangements made by Funeral Home of Huntsville, Alabama. Graveside service at a later date.
