James Cleon Moyers Jr., 84, of Tanner, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018. A Celebration of Life will be on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018, at Greenbrier Baptist Church at 2 p.m. A visitation service will be on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018, from 6-8 p.m. in Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Mr. Moyers was born on Nov. 14, 1933, to parents, James Cleon Moyers Sr. and Gertrude McCool Moyers. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Mr. Moyers was a devoted member of Greenbrier Baptist Church. He served as the Director of Missions for many years. In his spare time, Mr. Moyers enjoyed fishing, working in his yard, and spending time with his family and church friends. He was always there for whoever needed him. Mr. Moyers was very active in his community. Whenever a need needed to be met he was the first to answer the phone. Mr. Moyers will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Joel "Jody" Patrick Moyers; sister, Peggy Callahan.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Moyers; son, Charles Hughes (Debbie); daughter, Phyllis Hughes Harness (Steve); grandson, Troy Hughes; friend, Shirley; and many other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be James Troupe, Larry Fletcher, Gill White, Ben Guyse, Lanny Towe, and Keith Dodd.
