Helen Faye Sandlin
Helen Faye Sandlin, 84, of Athens, formerly of Cullman, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2019. She was born April 2, 1935, in Cullman County, Alabama, to Emmett Lumpkin and Ida Copeland Lumpkin.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Littleton Sandlin; one brother, Jimmie Lumpkin; and two sisters, Evelyn Singleton and Joneal Pruett.
Mrs. Sandlin was a retired high school teacher from Cullman High School.
Survivors include one son, Dr. Robert and Carol Sandlin of Athens, Alabama; one daughter, Connie C. Schoonmaker and husband Jim of Billings, Montana; one sister, Mickie Beatty and husband Richard of Louisville, Kentucky; and four grandchildren, Dr. Daniel and Ashley Sandlin, Drs. Nick Kentros and Megan Sandlin Kentros, Alex Schoonmaker and Morgan Schoonmaker Reid and husband Dylan.
A memorial service was held Saturday, July 20, 2019, at First United Methodist Church in Athens.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in honor of Helen Sandlin.
