Leeds, Alabama - Emma Gean Carter Hudson, age 94, of Leeds, Alabama passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025. She was born to Mr. Buren and Annie Lou Carter on January 18, 1931, in Athens, Alabama. Emma Gean was a graduate from West Limestone High School and went on to begin a career in the Retail business with Golbro Distrubuters in Birmingham as an Inventory Manager. She retired after 35 years in the industry. Emma Gean was a devoted member to Helena Church of Christ where she and her husband Charles attended for many years.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Charles; siblings, Howard Carter (Elizabeth), Ruby Christopher (J.B.), Heywood Carter (Betsy), Hollis Carter (Mildred), and Dean Dollar (William).

Emma Gean leaves behind her children, Tony Hudson (Brenda) and Wanda Bowden (James); grandchildren, Nick Hudson (Lauren), Christy Little (John), Rachel Hudson (Dustin Gooch), John Hudson (Brittany), Jacob Hudson, and Jennifer Campbell (Chris), 8 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Amedisys Hospice and Always Best Care nursing aides. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mitchell's Place, 4778 Overton Rd, Birmingham, AL 35210.

The family will have a private service in Emma Gean's honor.
