Athens, Al - Dolores Ann Gibbs of Athens, Alabama, age 93, passed away peacefully, in her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, February 28, 2026. Dolores was born July 19, 1932 to parents Louis and Gladys Cholasinski Ewald, in South Bend Indiana. Dolores is survived by her husband, Paul Gibbs, with whom she recently celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary!; sons: David Gibbs (Audrey), Tim Gibbs (Brenda), and Greg Gibbs (Sherry), all of Athens; Mark Gibbs of Fayetteville TN, and Chris Gibbs (Lynn) of Folkston GA; daughters: Mary Ann Chambers, Ann King (Danny, deceased) and Monica Morgan (John) all of Athens, and Julie Plyler (Charles) of Melbourne FL: 21 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Visitation Thursday March 5, 2026, from 7:00-9:00 P.M. at McConnell Funeral Home.
Visitation Friday March 6, 2026, at St. Paul's Catholic Church from 10:00 AM-11:00 A.M.
Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00A.M.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
