David Leon Walker


David Leon Walker, 65, of Athens, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2019, at his residence.
Mr. Walker was born Dec. 13, 1953, in Colbert County, Alabama. He was of the Baptist faith and was retired from Federal Mogul.
Graveside service will be 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Limestone Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday at Spry Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Tommy Walker, Hagan Walker, Chris Davis, Amos Harrison, Robert Harrison and Cody Patterson.
Survivors include his wife, Gatha Walker of Athens; son, Ryan Walker of Athens; daughter, Tiffany Renee Benton of Gun Barrel, Texas; brother, Paul (Sandra) Walker of Elkmont; sisters, Vivian (Clyde) Davis of Athens and Mae Walker of Decatur; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his father, Roy Houston Walker; mother, Buelah Almeta Walker; and brothers, Roy Walker, Claud Walker and John Walker.

So very sorry to hear of David's passing. I have known him many years, since I was 17 and he was 18. I have come to know Paul and Wanda too. I worked with both at G.E. I met you Gatha at your class reunion. I am married to your former classmate, Stan Scott. My heart is with you, ALL, as you go through this horrible day, and the days, weeks and months to come.
