Danny Royce King

Danny Royce King, of Athens, Alabama, passed away June 7, 2019, at Huntsville Hospital.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at Limestone Chapel. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. King was survived by his wife, Ann King; mother, Oceal King; sister, Kay Cogley; brother, Elston King; nephews, Caleb King (Kayla) and Josh King; great-niece, Emery King; stepdaughters, Alicia Sanders (Tim) and Michelle Luxemburg (Marc); grandchildren, Mackenzie, Nicholas and Lily Sanders, Logan and Landon Ruble and Caden, Maya and Xavier Luxemburg.
Danny was born in Athens, Alabama, on February 14, 1954. He graduated from Clements High School. He played football, ran track and loved horses.
He later joined the United States Army Reserves. He was a industrial welder by trade.
Danny died in a tragic accident, but he was doing what he loved most, helping others and working hard. His greatest passion was making sure everyone was taken care of. He would give you the shirt off his back and the last penny he had. He taught us that true love was giving it all at any cost, unselfishly.
He never met a stranger. Fishing with his wife and grandkids, hunting and making anything out of anything were his favorite pastimes. Anyone that knew Danny knew he was a believer and wanted everyone else to be.
The days will be much different without Danny's daily calls and voicemails.
