He is survived by Cristy's children Emma, Ivey, Noah, Levi, Judah, Miriam, and Salter Jenkins.

Clay is survived by his father, Gordon Anderson Swint (Andy) of Madison, Alabama, his mother, Jeanne Roberts Steadman (Stan) of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, and his grandparents Larry and Jean Roberts of Auburn, Alabama. Clay is survived by his brother Stuart Swint (Laura) and their children Jackson, Marilyn, and Gavin Swint of Athens. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Gordon and Jane Swint of Athens and his uncle Bill Earthman of Nashville.

Clay was born and raised in Athens and graduated from Athens High School in 1995. He obtained a degree in electricity from Southern Union Community College and enjoyed a successful career as a Licensed Electrical Contractor. At the time of his death, Clay was the Director of Engineering and Operations at Carbon Built.

Clay was a caring father, husband, son, brother, and grandson who loved spending time with his family. He was naturally curious and spent hours learning new ways of making things work. He enjoyed cooking with his family, traveling to explore new places, and he was happiest when he was with his children enjoying the outdoors. Clay was a talented musician who loved to play guitar and piano, and he especially enjoyed playing and listening to music with his children.

Clay's tragic passing will leave a void in the hearts of all who loved him so very much from now on as we make our way without him. At this sad time, we draw comfort from Clay's faith in God that assures us he is at peace with Jesus. A brief passage from Clay's favorite poem, "Desiderata" by Max Ehrmann states, "Therefore, be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul."

Clay's family will host a memorial service on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Athens First Methodist Church, 208 West Hobbs Street, Athens. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m., and the service will follow at 3 p.m. Clay will be laid to rest at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville, Alabama at a private family burial.
