Charles Edward Adams
The funeral service for Charles Edward Adams, 83, of Athens will be 3 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2019, at Athens Church of God, with Dr. Rev. John Taggert officiating.
Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2019, at Athens Church of God.
Burial will be Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Adams passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2019, at Limestone Health Facility.
He was born May 24, 1936, in Limestone County, Alabama, to Johnny Dee Adams Sr. and Lillian Kelly Adams.
Mr. Adams was an active member of Athens Church of God. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1961-1965 and a volunteer with RSVP at the Alabama Veterans Museum and Archives. He was a price analyst and project manager, and he retired from IBM in Manassas, Virginia,
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Martha Bone Adams; three brothers, Johnny D. Adams Jr., James E. Adams and Ezra E. Adams; and two sisters, Onnie Mae Hicks and Lucille A. Tucker.
Mr. Adams is survived by two sisters-in-law, Kathleen S. Adams and Ellen B. Merryman, both of Athens, Alabama; one brother-in-law, James Howard Bone of Michigan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Steve Adams, Marshall Adams, Anthony Adams, Tommy Tucker, Heath Guthrie and Marty Bruce.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alabama Veterans Museum and Archives, 100 W. Pryor St., Athens, AL 35611.
