Cecil Wade Clem Sr.
Cecil Wade Clem Sr., 86, of Elkmont, Alabama, died Sunday, March 22, 2020, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born Friday, May 6, 1933 in Limestone County, Alabama, he was the son of Walter Clem and Eula Mae Gaines Clem.
He lived here all his life. Cecil was a member of the Holland's Gin Church of Christ. He enjoyed gardening and loved to cut his yard. Cecil loved his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and wife of 62 joyful years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joyce Moore; and brother, Jerome Clem.
Cecil is survived by his wife, Helen Clem of Elkmont, Alabama; son, Wade (Dana) Clem of Elkmont, Alabama; daughter, Melody (Bud) Simmons of Athens, Alabama; grandchildren, Heather (Jordan) Lovell, Franklin Simmons, Davis Simmons, Matthew Clem and Laura Joy Simmons; great-grandchildren, Rylee Lovell and Aidan Lovell; and several nieces and nephews.
A private family visitation will be held Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
A 2 p.m. graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Ardmore, Alabama, with Bro. Kasey Harbin officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
A funeral procession will leave Ardmore Funeral Home at 1:45 p.m. Friends may follow the escort to the cemetery but all friends must remain in their cars at the funeral home and cemetery due to the current COVID-19 pandemic and current state rules.
Pallbearers will be Franklin Simmons, Davis Simmons, Matthew Clem, Aidan Lovell, Ricky Moore, Donnie Pittman and Jeff Wales.

I have many great memories of sitting on your front steps as a child when my family would visit then when we lived on Papas farm and worshipped at Holland’s Gin. Praying for all of you!
