Barry Alan Black


Mr. Barry Alan Black, 58, was suddenly embraced into the arms of Jesus Christ at his residence in Somerville, Alabama.
He was born March 15, 1961, in Athens, Alabama, to William Burl Black and Bernice Laxson Black.
He was a gentle soul who loved his family and was always there in times of need.
He was the director of maintenance for a variety of restaurant chains throughout the southeast.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Burl Black and niece Cynthia Black Cain, both of Lincoln, Alabama.
With deep love, he is survived by his mother and stepfather, Bernice and Warren Christiansen of Winchester, Tennessee; daughter, Catrina McGee Lester (Russell); granddaughters, Lillian and Layla McGee of Hillsboro, Tennessee; sister, Debbie Black Tindle of Lincoln, Alabama; brothers, Dennis Black (Natalie) of Guntersville, Alabama, and Mark Black (Anita) of Chattanooga, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, August 11, 2019, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home in Athens, Alabama. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m., prior to the service.
The family invites all who knew and loved him and requests prayers.

Monkey, I am so sad to learn of the passing of your son, Barry. Please know that you, Warren and the rest of of the family are in my prayers.
