Ann Yarbrough Smith, born January 20, 1954, to Clayton Edward and Annie Ruth Yarbrough in Athens, passed away at her home in Huntsville from heart failure on Friday, April 17, 2020.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Richard Vernon Smith, who passed away last June. She is survived by her son, Charles Smith (wife Margarete); grandchildren, Clayton, Abigail and Peter; daughter, Carolyn Ponce (husband Dario); brother, Don Yarbrough (wife Trudi); sister, Yvonne Chadick (husband Bill); brother-in-law, Robert Smith; sister-in-law, Anna Oswald (husband Mark); three nieces; two nephews; and two great-nephews.

Visitation is 2-4 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2020, at Berryhill Funeral Home in Huntsville, Alabama, with a rosary at 4 p.m. that will be live-streamed for home viewing. See the Berryhill Funeral Home website obituary for more information.

The memorial mass will be held at St. Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church Building Fund or the Community Free Dental Clinic in Huntsville, Alabama.
