Athens, Alabama - Alma Dean Greenhaw, a resident of Athens, passed away peacefully at Limestone Health and Rehab Facility on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the age of 94. Dean was born on April 21, 1931, in the Cartwright community of Limestone County, to loving parents Coleman Buel Beasley and Laura Lou Crowson Beasley.
Mrs. Greenhaw leaves behind a legacy of love, faith and family. She is survived by her children, Linda Wagner, Janet Nix, Judy Kirkland and Brad Greenhaw. Her memory will also be cherished by her grandchildren, Erica Sales, Lauren McCafferty (Eric) and Russ Baugher (Ildi). Dean's great-grandchildren, Caden Shoulders (Isabella), Laura McCafferty, Allie McCafferty and Levi Sales, will carry forward her legacy. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Dean was preceded in death by her parents, Coleman and Laura Lou Beasley; her husband of 49 years, Gilbert Archie Greenhaw; her brothers, Bill Beasley, Bobby Beasley and Stanley Beasley; and her grandson, Colin Baugher.
Friends and family are warmly invited to honor Dean's life at a visitation on Sunday, January 11, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery. The service will be officiated by Stuart Wilson and Kenneth Cosby. Caden Shoulders, Levi Sales, Eric McCafferty, L.C. Gill, Bill Beasley and Rusty Beddingfield will serve as pallbearers, with Russ Baugher, Jeff Beasley and Jared Beasley as honorary pallbearers.
Dean was a devoted member of the Cartwright Church of Christ and was deeply rooted in her faith. She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her and whose lives she touched with her kindness and warmth.
