The Funeral Service for William Henry Guimarin, Sr. age 79, of Athens, AL; will be Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at McConnell Memorial Chapel with Greg Laderback and Tony Wales officiating.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 11-12:45 a.m. at McConnell Funeral Home.
Mr. Guimarin passed away Friday, September 29, 2017 at his residence.
He was born September 23, 1938 in Albany, GA to Ralph Augustus Guimarin and Edna Pearl Knight Guimarin.
Mr. Guimarin was a member of Elkton Road Baptist Church. He was the most unselfish man. He was a coach at Johnson, Jr. High School, East Limestone, Tanner, and Hazel Green and went back to Tanner where he retired. He had a giving spirit and was a fighter. He was stern but very compassionate. He was an outstanding coach, mentor and a great example to all the children. He loved his family dearly. He was one of a kind and a quite storm. He was a best friend to his wife of 56 years. He stood behind her in every way. He loved the Lord and was with him to the end. He made a lasting impression to all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Roy Neil Guimarin.
He is survived by his loving wife Grace "Mickey" Guimarin of Athens, one son Will Guimarin and wife Kim of Athens, six grandchildren Cortny and wife Heather of Foley, AL; Jud and wife Katie of Athens, Cody and wife Cheyenne of El Paso, TX, , Jacob, Caden, and Conner Guimarin all of Athens.
