The Funeral Service for Franklin Wayne Hovis age 82, of Toney, AL will be Friday, June 30, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at McConnell Memorial Chapel with Brother Alan Hughes officiating.
Visitation will be Friday, June 30, 2017 1-2:45 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Hovis passed away Wednesday June 28, 2017 at his residence.
He was born March 1, 1935, in Madison County, AL, to George and Telker Hovis. He was a Deacon and member of Harvest Baptist Church. He served on the Alfa Board of Directors of Madison County for 25 years. He was a retired farmer. Mr. Hovis served in the U.S. Army for 6 years, He enjoyed spending time with grandchildren, watching Braves Baseball, and visiting with friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers Edward Anderson, Bill Hovis, June Hovis, and Jess Hovis.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Lois Lewis Hovis of Toney, one son Greg Hovis, two daughters Pam Emerson and husband Mike, Kim Collazo and husband Joe, two brothers Donnie Hovis, Mike Hovis and wife Sherry, two sisters Evelyn Marbut and Rocine McWhirter, seven grandchildren Caitlyn Collazo, Nathan Emerson, Cassidy Collazo, Carlie Collazo, Natalee Emerson, Ryan Collazo and wife Kerri, Rachel Davis and husband Brian and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mike Emerson, Nathan Emerson, Greg Hovis, Joe Collazo, Nathan Rogers, and Brian Davis
