Ronald James Wells, 73, of Athens, Alabama, died on March 30, 2018 in the Brookwood Hospital, Birmingham, Ala. He was born in Olney, Texas; went to High School in San Antonio, Texas; and received a Bachelor of Science degree at Athens State College. Ronald was retired from TVA and a proud U.S. Army veteran. Surviving him are his two children, Kimberly Ann Scott and Ronald James Wells, Jr.; three grandsons Jeffery Dale Scott, Jr. ; Jonathan Wayne Scott, and Christian James Wells; and two great-grandsons, Pierce Jonathan Scott and Rory Steven Scott; three sisters, Sue Lowes, Fay Hopkins, Beath Wells; and three brothers George Wells, Michael Wells, and Glen Wells, nieces and nephews. His granddaughter, Madison Kennedy Wells, preceded him in death. A graveside service is planned for the family at the Roselawn Cemetary in Athens, Alabama.
