Rebecca Craig Durham, 84, of Athens, died Thursday at her residence.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017, at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Pat Lawrence officiating. Burial at Limestone Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday at funeral home.
Mrs. Durham was born November 26, 1933, in Limestone County. Rebecca was a lifelong resident of Limestone County, having grown up on a farm and working in the needle-working industry for many years prior to her retirement.
She loved and was loved by her family and many friends and was known for her smile and caring, serving heart. She maintained a keen sense of humor until the very end. She was a member of Berea Baptist Church. Survivors include daughters, Deborah Daws of Athens and Susan Walker and husband J.D. of Athens; son, Bill Daws and wife Melana of Athens; stepdaughter, Mary Durham Dunnavant of Prospect, TN; stepson, Charles Durham and wife Doris of Athens; stepdaughter-in-law, Pettus Durham of Athens; brother, Ronald Craig and wife June of Athens; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Allen Lankster, Brandley Griggs, Tommy Smith, Gerald Hargrove, Grayson Carter and Roy Craig. Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth Carwile and Bill Cook.
Preceded in death by parents, Kelton and Florence Craig; husbands, Harold Daws and Winfred T. Durham; and stepson, Spencer Durham.
