Pauline Buckelew Carter, age 91 of Athens, passed away Monday at her residence.
Funeral service will be Thursday, February 2nd at 12 noon at McConnell Memorial Chapel with Mike Green and Anthony Harwell officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 1st at McConnell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Carter was born July 5, 1925 in Limestone County to Murphy Buckelew and Fannie Bond Buckelew. She was a member of Round Island Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Otha Carter, one grandson, Johnny Montgomery, two granddaughters, Elizabeth Jean Carter and Carla Pauline Carter, two brothers, Milford Buckelew and T.W. Buckelew, two sisters, Zeola Carter and Delores Eldridge.
Survivors include: two sons, Jerry Carter, and Steve Carter (Carol) all of Athens; four daughters, Carolyn Loggins, Linda Black, Janice Bevis (Billy), Pam Blakely (Terry) all of Athens; two sisters, Yvoner Davis (Fred) and Faye Hill; seven granddaughters, five grandsons, 22 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be David Harwell, Josh Carter, Joshua Stewart, Justin Landers, Spencer Davis, Bradley Blakely, Eric Loggins, and Matt Stewart.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Posey, Brandon Landers, Shooter Davis, John Stewart, and Noah Stewart.
