Ned Ray Sloan, 91, of Athens, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. Mr. Sloan was born April 25, 1926, in Limestone County to Elmer Sloan and Laura Mae Merriman Sloan.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Mike Davis and Heath Ball officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Sloan was a member of Northside Church of Christ. He was a World War II Veteran and served under General Patton in the Battle of the Bulge.
Survived by his wife, Maggie Pauline Sloan of Athens; two daughters, Dorothy Ball and Judy Graden and husband, Skip, both of Athens; two sons, Jimmy Sloan and wife, Linda and Don Sloan and wife, Kathy both of Athens; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Andy Chapman, Steven Ball, Jason Ball, Heath Ball, Justin Sloan and Jerry Ezell.
