Mary Frances Ricketts, age 84 of Athens, AL, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. Mrs. Ricketts was born October 17, 1933, in Limestone County to James Bart and Martha Smith Ricketts.
Miss Ricketts was preceded in death by her father, James Bart (J.B.) Ricketts, and mother, Lorene Ricketts; brothers, James Ricketts, Herman Ricketts and Alton Ricketts; nephew, Bart Dollar and brothers-in-law, Charles Dollar and Sam Hambrick.
She is survived by her sisters, Virginia Dollar and Edith Hambrick; sister-in-law, Nancy Ricketts; nieces and nephews, Denny Ricketts and wife Patty, Beth Miller and husband Mike, Jan Hodgson and husband Bill, Lisa Barfoot, Joy Burgess and husband Tim, Ken Ricketts, Blake Dollar and wife Kristy; great-nieces and -nephews, Lori Beth Moses, Blair DuQuesnay, Marlena Brewer, Susan Miller, Reannan Ricketts, Bill Hodgson, Colton Ricketts, Denver Ricketts, Emily Adair Burgess, Jackson Dollar and Kennedy Dollar; great-great-nieces and -nephews, Elizabeth Phelps, Vallee Brewer, Rebekah Phelps, Sophia Brewer, Ellie Moses and Bobby DuQuesnay.
Miss Ricketts was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. She retired from A&P and Winn-Dixie grocery stores. Miss Ricketts was a faithful supporter of East Limestone High School and Creekside Elementary.
Services for Miss Ricketts will be noon Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Keenum officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11:45 prior to the service. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Dennis Ricketts, Ken Ricketts, Blake Dollar, Jackson Dollar, Colton Ricketts and Denver Ricketts. Honorary pallbearers will be David Smith, Jerry Newby, Stanley Menefee, Mark Zirbel, Kenneth Craft and Nathan Craft.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sardis Springs Baptist Church building fund.
