Mary Helen (Hess) Weaver, 83, of Athens died Monday at Athens-Limestone Hospital.
Mrs. Weaver was born August 27, 1934, in Limestone County. She was a retired registered nurse, a volunteer with Hospice of Limestone County and a member of West Highland Baptist Church.
Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Spry Funeral Home with Jerry Smith and Greg Lauderback officiating. Burial in Limestone Memorial Gardens. Visitation 1 p.m. until service Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Weaver, Corey Weaver, Jeffrey Reach, Brandon Looney, Drew Weaver, Preston Weaver and Tim Eaton.
Survivors include daughter, Betsy (Terry) Reach of Birmingham; son, Brian (Anita) Weaver of Athens; daughter-in-law, Cathy Weaver of Athens; grandchildren, Sgt 1st Class Brandon Weaver of Seattle, WA, Heather Brown of Athens, Corey Weaver of Christiansburg, VA, Jeffrey Reach, Lauren Reach and Emily Reach all of Birmingham, Drew Weaver of Athens and Preston Weaver of Athens; great-grandchildren, Jackson Weaver, Emma Weaver and Caroline Brown; brothers, Herman Hess of Ft. McCoy, FL, and Bobby Ball of Russellville, AL; sister, Susie Phelps of Lakeland, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents, Varnell and Mildred Hess; husband, Clarence Weaver; sons, Mike Weaver and Pete Weaver. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County.
