Louis Alton Bedingfield, 72, of Athens passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017 after a long courageous battle with kidney disease.
He was raised in Lauderdale County, the third child of Louis A. and Pearl McGee Bedingfield. He was a 1966 graduate of Auburn University School of Engineering, retired from Federal Mogul. Mr. Bedingfield was a dedicated Christian and faithful member of Berea Baptist Church.
The family would like to say a special thanks to Davita Dialysis, and Dr. Roger Coomer, and Dr. Randy Burns and the Heart Center. The family asks that memorial donations be made to Berea Baptist Church for Noah's Ark Orphanage.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis A. and Pearl McGee Bedingfield, and his sister, Mabel Bedingfield Graham. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Debra Jones Bedingfield, Athens; brother, Ralph (Evelyn) Bedingfield, Lavergne, Tennessee; nephews, nieces, and many close friends.
The service will be officiated by Brother Patrick Lawrence and Pastor Larry Lockett at Berea Baptist Church on Friday, April 14, 2017 at 2 p.m. Visitation will be held prior to the service from noon until service time at Berea Baptist Church. Burial will take place at the Hooie Bedingfield Cemetery in Rogersville.
Pallbearers will be Wade Weaver, Rob Weaver, Jeff Jones, Grady Easterling, Bill Turner, and Henry Pollitz.
