Linda Watson Hicks, 72, of Athens died Friday at her residence.
Visitation was 5-9 p.m. Sunday at Spry Funeral Home. Services were 11 a.m. Monday, February 19, 2018, in the Chapel of Spry Funeral Home with Joel Carwile, Joe Teal and Tim Anderson officiating. Burial in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Hicks was born January 26, 1946, in Giles County, Tennessee. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Athens, the Senior Adult Choir, Keenagers and WMU. She was retired from Athens City Board of Education and was a Master Gardener.
Survivors include husband, Larry G. Hicks of Athens; daughter, Susan Hicks Killen and husband Thomas of Athens; son, Wayne Hicks and wife Debbie of Alexander City; grandchildren, Christopher Hicks of Florence, Lauren Hicks of Alexander City and Alex Killen of Athens; sisters-in-law, Elaine Watson of Athens and Sherry Anderson and husband Tim of Athens; and brother-in-law, Chris Hicks and wife Debbie of Opelika. Preceded in death by father, Howard Watson; mother, Nelcie Watson; and brother, J.W. Watson.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of North Alabama, Athens City Schools Foundation, Huntsville Botanical Gardens or First Baptist Church WMU.
