Leta Sue Edgemon, 78, of Athens, went to her eternal home Wednesday, July 5, 2017.
Sue was born April 23, 1939, in Morgan County, Alabama, to James A. Slaton and Pearl V. Newton Slaton.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 8, at Midway Baptist Church, with Brother Gerome Hilliard officiating. Visitation will be 11:45 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. Saturday prior to the service. Entombment will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
Sue was a member of Midway Baptist Church. She loved watching Grayson play sports, spending time with family and enjoyed designing beautiful flower baskets.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Joe Edgemon; and sister, Pat Black.
She is survived by one son, Jason Edgemon and wife, Lori, of Athens; one grandson, Grayson Edgemon of Athens; three sisters, Joyce Cluff of Harvest, Judy Gilbert and Kay Hill, both of Athens; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Henderson, Bryon Scott, Tab Black, Barry Black, Todd Crouch and Joseph Scott. Honorary pallbearers will be Sue's brothers-in-law: Norm Cluff, Gene Black, Jerry Gilbert and Dwight Hill, and the deacons of Midway Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to Midway Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.
