Larry Glen Scott, 67, of Athens passed away on Jan. 21, 2017, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.
A native of Athens, Larry enjoyed most his involvement in the youth baseball and softball organizations during the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s as both coach and board member. He also coached youth basketball and soccer during the 1980s, having helped provide and build some of the first soccer goals used by the brand-new soccer league.
As a 25-year employee of Dunlop Tire and Rubber, Larry was proud to have held a variety of positions that allowed him the opportunity to give other young people their first job.
