Jeannine K. Roberts


Jeannine K. Roberts, 84, of Athens, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Huntsville Hospital surrounded by her immediate family.
Mrs. Roberts was born August 26, 1934, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Lancaster Catholic High School in 1952. She worked as an administrative assistant in various companies, as an operator for AT&T in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and for Joyce Shoe in Madison, Indiana. She had a lifelong love of sewing, spending most of her life working as a seamstress, and made numerous handmade quilts that have been cherished.
She continued her career while raising her family, moving to Madison, Indiana, in 1968. She and her husband also resided in Texas and Florida before settling in Athens, Alabama.
Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Irene Keller; her brother, John Keller; and sister, Mary Kopf.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Fred Roberts; brother, William Keller of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; three children, Debbie Elles and fiancé Dave Bell, David Roberts and wife Glenna Roberts, and Donna Roberts; grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Aaron Roberts, BeeJay Elles and wife Angela, Brian Bishop and wife Lorraine; and great-grandchildren, Lydian Roberts, Elijah Roberts, Maggie Elles, Skyler Elles, Lindsey Bishop and Logan Bishop.
Memorial services will be at a later date.
