Hilda Florene Whitworth


Mrs. Hilda Florene Whitworth, 91, of Athens, Alabama, died Friday, March 29, 2019, at her residence. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Greg Standridge officiating. Burial in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation is from noon until service Wednesday at Spry.
Mrs. Whitworth was born January 7, 1928, in Morgan County, Alabama. She was a member of the Baptist Church and owner/operator of Pet Grooming Services.
Survivors include daughter, Sandra Rose of Athens; sons, Robert Gerry Whitworth of Athens and Rickey Whitworth and wife Peggy of Athens; grandchildren, Wade Whitworth, Suzette Harris, Pam Whitworth, Joe Whitworth, Colin Whitworth, Brandy Keaton and Beth Sheehan; 16 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Waylon Harris, Patrick Sheehan, Wade Whitworth, Joe Whitworth, Colin Whitworth, Nathan Pinkerton and Brennon Levi Rose.
Preceded in death by parents, John and Mattie Muzzey; twin sister and eight other siblings; son-in-law; two grandsons; and one great-grandson.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Mrs. Whitworth was a special lady. She took care of two of my poodles over the years, and was responsible for finding a precious teacup poodle for me when my first poodle was getting older. May God Bless your family and give you strength in the days ahead.
