Henry Benford

Henry Benford was born in Limestone County on May 31, 1951, to the late Sim Benford and Leona Brooks. He peacefully entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018, at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jeffery Benford; along with eight sisters and three brothers.
At an early age, Brother Benford joined Fletcher's Chapel under the leadership of Pastor Austin Anderson. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Brother Benford enjoyed playing with his grandkids, gardening, selling his produce in the community, hunting, fishing, and most of all, entertaining (talking).
He leaves to cherish his devoted wife, Margie Benford; daughter, Alicia Johnson (Bryce); two beautiful granddaughters, Amari and Brylee; seven sisters, MaeWillie Yarbrough, Ardelia McDonald (Leon), Betty Zollicoffer, Zilphy Benford, Barbara Fagalar, Marie Stewart (Charles), Evelyn Wallace; four brothers, Charlie Benford (Farris), Kenneth Wayne Wallace (Rachael), Richard Wallace, Chris Wallace; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
A celebration of his life was held on Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at Limestone Chapel, followed by a graveside service at Thatch and Mann Cemetery. The family would like to thank everyone for their love, compassion, words of encouragement and prayers during his time of illness. Special thanks to CCI of Huntsville and Kindred Home Health/Hospice.
