Frances Alberta Lambert, 81, passed away peacefully at her home in Athens, Alabama on January 27, 2017. She was surrounded by a loving family.
She was born Frances Alberta Pike to Ruth Otto and James Homer Pike, both deceased, in Limestone County, Alabama. She graduated from East Limestone School. She moved to the Shoals area, where she raised her two sons, (Greg and Jeff), and worked for Dr. Winston Williams.
After attending a high school reunion, she was reunited with Gilbert Lambert and they were married in 1975. Returning to the country life she was a wonderful homemaker. She and Gilbert were always ready for a weekend trip and traveled the south extensively. Alberta was married to Gilbert for 40 years until he passed away July 13, 2015.
Alberta was a member of Central Church of Christ always lending a helping hand to anyone that needed one. She will be missed by everyone that knew her.
She is preceded in death by her brothers, James Hugh Pike and Homer Davis Pike; nephew; James Harvey Hardiman and son; Jeffery William Creel.
She is survived by her son, Gregory Anderson Creel; grandsons, Wyatt Creel (Heather) and Matthew Creel (Jennifer); great-granddaughters, McKenzie Creel and Kayla Canett; brother, Claude William Pike (Nan); sister, Juanita Hardiman and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home Sunday, January 29, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. Bill Perkins officiated.
Pallbearers were Matthew Creel, Will Pike, Freddy Hood, Tim Lamb, Michael Lambert and Chris Lambert.
