Frances Wilma Brooks, age 78 of Battletown, KY, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017, in Louisville, KY.
She was born on October 18, 1939 in Limestone County, AL to the late Marvin and Hattie Boyd Croley. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mira Ramsey and Betty Moyers; and brother, Joe Croley.
Frances was a devoted wife of 45 years, member of Raymond Baptist Church and part of the Women's Mission. An angel who walked the earth, a good friend and a good person to everyone, and would help anyone at any time; Frances loved God and her family especially her grandkids and great-grandkids. She was voted most athletic and played softball and basketball in High School, and loved gardening and cooking.
She is survived by her husband, Lester L. Brooks; children: Rev. Teresa June Webb of AL, Randy Joe (Maureen) Webb of Hagerstown, MD, Sherry Lynn (Dennis) Adams of Brandenburg, and daughter, Tammy (Donnie) Hack of Mt. Washington; sisters, Edith Gooch of AL, Marvaline Hargrove of AL, Rena Turner of AL, Barbara Davis of FL, Sandra Wales of AL; brothers Aubrey Croley of AL, Rowe Croley of AL, Kenneth Croley of AL, and Andy Croley of NC; 7 grandchildren: Memory Jo (Todd) Kinslow of TN, Destiny Sierra Adams, of Brandenburg, Slater Wayne Adams of Brandenburg, Hattie Elizabeth Adams of Brandenburg, Elaina Grace Adams of Brandenburg, Stacy Nicole Webb of AL, Kayla Hack of Mt. Washington; and 2 great-grandchildren, Nathanial Blaze and Kamryn Olivia Kinslow.
Funeral Services will be held from the chapel of Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. with pastors Alan Thomas and Travis Thomasson officiating. Visitation will be held the day of the services from 10:00-2:00 PM EDT. Burial will
follow in Eastlawn Cemetery in Brandenburg, KY.
