Services for Florence LeCroix Russell, 94, of Athens, will be 1 p.m. Friday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Green officiating. Burial will follow at Limestone Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. to time of service Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Russell died Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Limestone Health Facility.
She was born Nov. 23, 1922, in Limestone County. She was a member of Round Island Baptist Church in Athens, a retired lunchroom worker at Reid and Athens elementary schools. She was a member of The Eastern Star and White Shrine of Decatur.
Survivors include her husband of 76 years, Matthew A. Russell, Athens; son, Gene Russell (Peggy), Athens; grandchildren, David Russell, Atlanta, Gina Jones (Barry), Athens, Sandy Abernathy (Jeff), Athens, and Joy Woodward (Jimmy) Athens; great-grandchildren, Jonathan McCrary, Jennifer Johnson, Gage Abernathy, Skye Abernathy, Maddi Woodward, Connor Woodward and Jon Ray Russell; five great-great-grandchildren; brother, Joe LeCroix, Athens; sister, Catherine Reithmire, Decatur; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents,Tom and Bertha LeCroix; son, Thomas (Sonny) Russell; brothers, Charlie LeCroix, Max LeCroix, Mahlon LeCroix and Buddy LeCroix; and sisters, Era Mae Parker, Mary Jane Lott and Martha Ann Roberts.
Pallbearers will be Joe LeCroix, Jimmy Woodward, Jeff Abernathy, Barry Jones, Jonathan McCrary and Gage Abernathy.
Memorials may be made to Round Island Baptist Church.
