Mr. Earl Troy Barbin, 76, of Athens, Alabama, died Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at Huntsville Hospital.
He was born March 3, 1941, in Marksville, Louisiana. He was a retired electronic technician, a Vietnam Air Force veteran, an avid bass fisherman and a sports enthusiast. He was a world traveler who worked in many countries. He was a member of the Catholic faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Christa Barbin; father, Earl Frank Barbin; mother, Edna Gaspard Barbin; son, Gregory Barbin; and brother, Joseph Gerald "Joe" Barbin.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Spry Funeral Home with Father Charles Alookaran and Jennifer Barbin Rickett officiating. Interment will be in Ripley Cemetery.
Visitation will be noon until service time Thursday.
Survivors include longtime partner and best friend, Deborah Haney of Athens; son, Keith D. Barbin Sr. (Cindy) of Colleyville, Texas; stepson, Roland Goepel (Belinda) of Weiterstadt, Germany; and sisters, Ellen Conger of Baker, Louisiana, and Jean Walker of Burleson, Texas; grandchildren, Kristine, Mindy, Jennifer and Keith D. Jr.; and stepgrandson, Dennis Geopel.
Pallbearers will be Keith D. Barbin Jr., Michael Rickett, Blake Barbin, Eric Tanner, Randy Bice II and Tyler Stansell.
