David Lee Norton, 87, of Athens, died Thursday at his residence.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, February 18, 2018, at First Christian Church with Clint Coffey officiating. Body will lie in repose 1 p.m. until service. Burial in Roselawn Cemetery with Masonic rites. Visitation is from 3-6 p.m. Saturday at Spry Funeral Home.
Mr. Norton was born March 1, 1930, in Detroit, Michigan. He was a member of First Christian Church in Athens and was retired from Chemstrand-Monsanto. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, 52-year member of Lodge 16 F.B.A.M. and 1948 graduate of East Limestone High School. He attended Athens College.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Janice White Norton of Athens; son, Michael David Norton and wife Marti Gernt Norton of Athens; granddaughter, Samantha Paige Norton of Athens; one niece; and two nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Clarence Lee Norton and Hazel Scoggins Norton; and brother, Morris Glenn (Buzz) Norton.
Pallbearers will be Andy Norton, Kim Norton, Scott Hargrove, Grant White, Ronnie Ray White, Ronnie Lee White, Barry Hagood and Brent White. Honorary Pallbearers are Johnny Armstrong, Otis Armstrong, Russell Stinnett, David Bailey, Billy Maples and Marvin Todd.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County or First Christian Church Memorial Fund.
