The funeral for Christopher Wayne Cockrell, 50, Athens, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, at Friendship United Methodist Church with Tony Johnson officiating. Visitation is from noon until time of service Wednesday at Friendship United Methodist Church.
Mr. Cockrell died Sunday, June 11, 2017, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.
He was born July 22, 1966, in Limestone County. He was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church, owner and operator of Cockrell Land Surveying and was a veteran of the Alabama National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Cockrell; grandparents, Robert and Sylvia Cockrell and Kenneth and Pauline Cottrell.
Survivors include his wife, Kristy Michelle Cockrell, Athens; mother, Paulette Cockrell, Athens; son, Cade Walker Cockrell, Athens; stepson, Bryant Costonis, Columbia, Tennessee; stepdaughter, Olivia Costonis, Nashville; sister, Tracy (Buck) Cockrell Wilson, Athens; and niece, Sydney Baucom, Huntsville.
Memorials may be made to Friendship United Methodist Church.
