Carolyn Bullington McClard passed away June 14, 2017, at her residence in Mobile.
She was born Jan. 8, 1937, in Athens to Edward Henderson Bullington and Olna Drucilla Wigginton Bullington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Glenn Muse; and her second husband, Eugene McClard.
She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Ann Mostellar of Mobile; her grandchildren, Bishop Mostellar (Rachel), Murphy Mostellar and Carly Mostellar; her sister, Marilyn Bullington Garrett (Ray) of Athens; two brothers, Edward Freed Bullington (Martha) of Athens and Harris Barnard Bullington (Juanita) of Mimms, Florida; two nieces; Carol Garrett Holland and Sandra Bullington Logan; five nephews, Alan Freed Bullington, Kimball Edward Bullington, Stanley Fred Bullington, Van Bullington and Robert Garrett; and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.
Carolyn grew up in Athens and graduated from Athens High School in 1954. She also graduated from Florence Teachers' College and Athens College. She retired from NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center after many years of working as a mathematician. She moved to Mobile in 2012 to be near her daughter and grandchildren. She continued to live independently until her death. She enjoyed singing during the church services at the chapel in her retirement community. She loved her grandchildren greatly and enjoyed all the time spent with them, their friends and spouses. She loved to watch the Atlanta Braves and usually called her sister, Marilyn, and brother-in-law, Ray, every morning to make sure she knew what time the Braves were playing.
Spry Funeral Home in Athens is assisting the family with a service to be held Tuesday, June 20, in their chapel, with burial immediately following in Roselawn Cemetery.
